The next meeting will be at 2.30pm on Tuesday 2nd January, and the passage for discussion will be Ephesians chapter 2. Please read this in your chosen version of the Bible before the meeting. All welcome.

We are pleased to say that our link with Angel Road School has been re-established, and we look forward to welcoming the Year 3 children on Thursday 7th December when they come to look at the Cribs and Trees displays.

We’ve been working hard all week to set up the displays for the Festival, and are pleased with the results. Many thanks to everyone who has helped.

The Festival will be open on Saturday 2nd, Sunday 3rd, Friday 8th, Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th December from 10.30am to 4.00pm (from 12 noon on the Sundays), and we look forward to welcoming visitors old and new. See earlier post for more details.

There will be no meeting in December. The next one will be in January – date and passage for discussion to be confirmed later.

The Christingle Service will be at 4.00pm on Sunday 10th December, to round off our Cribs and Trees Festival (for details see previous post). There will be a Candlelit Carol Service at 6.30pm on Sunday 17th December – followed by light refreshments – and a Christmas Day Celebration at 10.30am on Monday 25th December (no service on Sunday 24th). We would love to see friends old and new at any or all of the services.

Here’s the poster for this year’s Cribs and Trees Festival. The displays will be left up until the New Year, so if you come to any Sunday services during December or the first week in January you will be able to look at them. We’d love to see you!

The passage for discussion at the meeting at 2.30pm on Tuesday 7th November will be Ephesians chapter 2.

Tuesday 3rd October at 2.30pm will see the first monthly meeting of our new Bible Book Club in the Lecture Room. People who wish to attend are invited to read a selected passage in their choice of version of the Bible before they come to the meeting, so that all can contribute to the discussion. This meeting’s passage is Ephesians chapter 1. Future meetings will be on the first Tuesday of each month, but possibly not in December and January.

We look forward to our Harvest Service on Sunday 1st October, and hope that those who come to the service will enjoy the floral displays as well as the fellowship. The service will be followed by a ‘bring-and-share’ lunch, to which all are invited.

The concert was much-enjoyed by the 35 or so people who attended, and £150 was raised for the Calvert Hall Refurbishment Fund. We would like to thank everyone who supported the event and, of course, Steve for providing us with such a great performance of songs that we remembered from the past. We sang along to many of them, and some people took to the dance floor. One of our members also did a surprise solo spot with Elvis’s ‘I can’t help falling in love with you’!
