Bible Book Club

Tuesday 3rd October at 2.30pm will see the first monthly meeting of our new Bible Book Club in the Lecture Room. People who wish to attend are invited to read a selected passage in their choice of version of the Bible before they come to the meeting, so that all can contribute to the discussion. This meeting’s passage is Ephesians chapter 1. Future meetings will be on the first Tuesday of each month, but possibly not in December and January.

Steve Alan concert

The concert was much-enjoyed by the 35 or so people who attended, and £150 was raised for the Calvert Hall Refurbishment Fund. We would like to thank everyone who supported the event and, of course, Steve for providing us with such a great performance of songs that we remembered from the past. We sang along to many of them, and some people took to the dance floor. One of our members also did a surprise solo spot with Elvis’s ‘I can’t help falling in love with you’!

Concert by Steve Alan

Local singer, Steve Alan, has kindly offered to give us a free concert of songs from the 1950s to the 1980s (Motown, country, rock’n’roll, pop) on Saturday 22nd July in the Calvert Hall, from 7.00pm to 9.30pm. Entry will be free, with a retiring collection in aid of our church hall refurbishment fund. Light refreshments will be provided. Parking will be available in the school car park opposite the church. We would welcome any and all to come and join us for what we are sure will be a very enjoyable evening.

Coronation Lunch

On Sunday 7th May, to celebrate the King’s coronation, we shall be holding a lunch after the morning service. We shall be inviting our neighbours from the local community, and we look forward to welcoming all who would like to join us. We also hope that the weather will be better than it was when we held our Jubilee Lunch last year, so that we can celebrate outdoors this time!

New Minister

Our new minister, Rev Mary Sachikonye, will be taking pastoral charge of the church from 22nd January. We offer her welcome and support as we all get to know each other better.
A big thank you to Rev Sharon Willimott for all she has done for us in the time she has been with us, and we look forward to continuing to welcome her as a member of our congregation.
