Concert by Steve Alan

Local singer, Steve Alan, has kindly offered to give us a free concert of songs from the 1950s to the 1980s (Motown, country, rock’n’roll, pop) on Saturday 22nd July in the Calvert Hall, from 7.00pm to 9.30pm. Entry will be free, with a retiring collection in aid of our church hall refurbishment fund. Light refreshments will be provided. Parking will be available in the school car park opposite the church. We would welcome any and all to come and join us for what we are sure will be a very enjoyable evening.

Coronation Lunch

On Sunday 7th May, to celebrate the King’s coronation, we shall be holding a lunch after the morning service. We shall be inviting our neighbours from the local community, and we look forward to welcoming all who would like to join us. We also hope that the weather will be better than it was when we held our Jubilee Lunch last year, so that we can celebrate outdoors this time!

New Minister

Our new minister, Rev Mary Sachikonye, will be taking pastoral charge of the church from 22nd January. We offer her welcome and support as we all get to know each other better.
A big thank you to Rev Sharon Willimott for all she has done for us in the time she has been with us, and we look forward to continuing to welcome her as a member of our congregation.

Calvert Hall Suite refurbishment

The refurbishment of the Hall and side rooms continues and good progress is being made. Several rooms have been redecorated and recarpeted, and the Hall stage has been cleared and made fit for performances, but there is a lot of work still to be done. We would like to thank everyone who has helped so far, including members of both the Church family and of some of the groups who use the premises. Once the empty rooms have been furnished, we will post pictures so that anyone who might be interested in hiring them can see what facilities are available.

Cribs and Trees Festival

The Festival was well-supported, despite the cold weather, and everyone who visited was most appreciative of the displays and the work that had gone into setting them up. Some additional donations towards our Church Hall Refurbishment Fund were made over the Christmas period, so the final amount has yet to be announced. We would like to thank everyone who came and who donated so generously.
